Life Saving Medical Supply Chain Coordination 🩸
Despite differences across an international network of donor-patient registries,
I served as an experience design lead who supported the evolution of a web-based tool that provides a consistent, standardized experience for searching and ordering of life-saving cell therapy products used in cellular therapies.
This tool includes time-saving features that enhance accuracy, simplify ordering,
and continuously refine results using evidence-based data and user feedback.

Coordinating discussions between technology, business, subject matter experts, & enterprise architects to flesh out a mutual understanding of what aspects of the business are connected, dependent, and showing up for our customers.

Definition of Success ✅
Aligning budgets & project timelines to expected user outcomes helped empower our product teams to more informed digital product discussions & clarity on services spanning across the organization.
Landing on a mutually understood vision for where a product or service is—as well as where it plans to be—helped inform milestones & goals to get there as well as informed the plan to execute the work to be done to deliver the most impact to the most users.

Deliver a Solution—for the Business & Our Users 🤝🏻
The benefits of establishing & maintaining a more user centered design system & operational process included:
• Coordinate on+off shore design resources to deliver consistent, development-approved concepts that meet business & user needs
• Ability to organize & facilitate a user panel of more than two dozen customers twice a month for perpetual feedback on release cycles & future development work
• Continue to implement analytics to confirm feature usage & consider deprecating unused functions of the product to reduce essential maintenance capacity
Future State 🚀
We took an iterative approach to meeting the needs of specific user groups- internal and external— and delivering incremental value with specific feature-releases was crucial to the success of this project. Narrowing the focus of the project and agreeing on scope with necessary stakeholders led to small wins and a big improvement to business operations and an experience the public user group had never seen before.
With the needs and wants of all potential users to the system considered and captured, the team had a clear list of features to inform a roadmap. Breaking the scope of work down into bite-size pieces led to an efficient use of time by all team members and a backlog of work that will continue to bring value to the end-users for quite some time.
We did it as a team. ✊🏻
